Jesus met the woman ‘where she was’’: literally at the well, and figuratively in her life… the painting is after their conversation when the woman ran back to her village to share her divine experience with Jesus. Her renewed spirit and confidence in the presence, forgiveness and abidement of Jesus became her focus and priority, leaving her water jug empty at the well but gaining and sharing ‘living water’: a sustaining relationship with God…
