Jesus tells the women in John 4 that "..but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. The painting depicts eternal water coming from above into and overflowing from the vessel. I think this is to say that by yielding to Jesus, and stop laboring on our own, we will be repeatedly refreshed and focused on the things that really matter.
